Food focused week, Starting with a trip to Melbourne to talk about obesity and diabetes. And making sure i ate for Australia while i was there!
It has been a very food focussed week starting with a trip to Melbourne to sell the study into obesity and diabetes and their effect on the food industry (no laughing at the irony of 112kg of me presenting this). Naturally I ate for Australia while I was there, the best meals being at Maurice Terzini’s latest success at the casino and the wonderful France Soir. The mood of both place s is so different, but they are both such enjoyable places to eat. The second book, the bloke’s book is off to the printer with a release date the end of October. I have started on the third in three years for Penguin already which is being shot before Christmas, which should keep me off the streets for a while. I’m still waiting to hear if the TV series will be a goer this year or not-fingers crossed. I am putting together barbecue demonstrations for Sunbeam in Harvey Norman stores in September and October, but more about that nearer the date and we will be running barbecue classes in pubs and clubs starting in the next few months; these will be posted all over the site once they’re scheduled. It’s really good weather to slow cook some lamb on the barbie; just a plain leg or shoulder is great and of course you can marinate them or rub them with dry spices. If you’re feeling flash, lamb racks, either restaurant trimmed or with the outside layer of fat and tender meat are a real treat barbecued. I’m off to lunch at Otto-yippee! And heading out to a Churrasco place tomorrow. A foodie’s work is never done.
