I've been gallivanting around raising up a media frenzy...
What a week! Launched the new book - The Great Aussie Bloke’s Cookbook a little over a week ago and I’ve been playing very very minor celebrity with TV on Today and A Current Affair, radio interviews from Perth to Darwin to Tassie and bits in newspapers and magazines across the country.
Here’s a link to some very funny online ads to promote the book. Naturally I managed to squeeze in some decent eating while gallivanting around.
I loved Cumulus in Melbourne and made my usual religious pilgrimage to Flower Drum down there.
Great meal at Lucio’s on Monday and an excellent feed at the brand new and too groovy for an old fart like me Beresford last week. Also loved the Ash St tapas food behind the even groovier and less me The Ivy (Justin, where was my invite to the pool party launch?).
A splendid steak and heaps of Veuve Cliquot at Otto, but of course no winners and too stupid to go home afterwards; had to drown my sorrows next door at Manta..
Madly writing recipes for another Aussie Barbie insert in the Herald Sun, Courier Mail and Daily Tele pre Christmas and looking forward to barbecue classes over the next three weeks at Castle Hill Tavern run by my great mate Stu Goodman.
